I am already a landed immigrant. I landed in Toronto on Dec 18, 2010. Now I want to sponser my parents to come and join us in Toronto. My parents and my finances are good, but not enough to get them here on any of the "finance" schemes. I can support them once they are here.

So my question is: what is the best (and fastest) way for me to reunite with my parents?

To sponsor your parents is not very fast. Last time I checked, it was taking 45 months just to approve the sponsor and after that they are not really considered high priority at the visa office either. Still, you can get that started and if you figure out a better way in the meantime, you can look into that.

Other than that, they could look into immigrating themselves. There are more ways of coming in as an investor than just the federal program. Many provinces have programs for investors that they can immigrate if they have business experience and will invest some money in a Canadian business. You would basically have to look at all the immigration programs and provincial programs and see if there is anything they might qualify for.

I fastest way is to invite them to visit you. Two options - Single or Multiple Visit Visa. Depending where your parents are, processing times varies from same day to 56 days.

Will their visitor status have any bearing on their eventual immigration application.
1. could I apply while theyare with me?
2. could they visit me once thir application is "in process"?

Thank you for both your prompt responces. :)

1. Yes
2. Yes but they as always have to prove that it is just a visit and they don't intend to overstay.

Get a multiple visa, then they can apply for the visa once but come and go at will.
