Returning Canadians, how to transfer money and gold

i have a question for returning canadian who has lived and worked outside canada for a while and would like to go back to canada. How can they transfer their money (big amounts from end of service, will canada gov question that?)

also how can i travel with the gold i have? will i be questioned in the border?

Wire money. As for traveling with gold, just make declaration at the border and fill in a form (as instructed by the border officer).

Wire money to your canadian account. The bank might ask you for the money source so keep copies of your tax returns from that country(s) / house selling docs etc

Every bank has its daily maximum amount and some countries restricts how much one can wire money to another country. You should ask your bank and country.

As long as its coming from another bank, and you are immigrating or returning to Canada as a resident, you will be fine.
