Hi All,

I am a US Citizen living in Canada on a work permit. My spouse is a Canadian Citizen, so we finally got around to sponsoring myself. I applied 'Out of Canada' per numerous advice as it is faster.

I just had my application returned - they said i was missing a form - though when I checked the form they are requesting is for 'Inside of Canada' though I applied 'Out of Canada'. Also they want me to mail the form back at the address for 'Inside of Canada'.

Does anyone know why?

I was thinking of sending the form they requested but mailing it back to the 'Out of Canada' address, as the processing time is faster. Any thoughts??

Thanks

Hey JHJ, apparently there has been some mishaps with applications not properly "coding"
My advice would be to call CIC Customer Service team and explain to them your dilemma.

unfortunately you will have to resubmit and properly a-fix that this application is for outland application. hope this helps

Thats too bad! Guess have to start over again.
How does one properly a-fix? Would a note suffice?

yes, i would type in very large writing... PACKAGE WAS RETURNED ON XX BECAUSE FORM XX WAS NOT SUBMITTED. THIS IS AN OUTLAND APPLICATION, FORM XXXX IS NOT REQUIRED, PER THE ATTACHED OUTSIDE CANADA CHECKLIST. PLEASE PROCESS AS AN OUTSIDE CANADA APPLICATION.

This is at least the 4th case I've seen over the past month or two where they made this mistake.
I was so scared it would happen to me that I wrote OUTLAND in like 5 different places on my application including the envelope.

Oh my gooood this mistake keeps happening and I think it's SO wrong, ugh they better fix this NOW. I have a feeling this is ONE incompetent officer who wasn't trained properly.
