Restrictions in the PGWP

I am currently on a PGWP and it says "Not authorized to work in Health Service Field occupations"
I got a offer to work as a research technician in the research institute of a hospital. Will I be able to work ?

No. You need to change the conditions of your work permit & take a medical exam.

I need to take a medical exam and make changes to the work permit even if I don't come in contact with patients ? How long does it take for this process ?
