Hi everyone, I contacted IRCC via webform about an accidental innocent misrepresentation i did on a open work permit application in 2018. I apologized and declared it was the wrong response.

I was wondering if anyone could give any insights to the response as i'm a bit confused.

Good day,

Thank you for contacting Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).

We verified the information you provided and can confirm that it is not necessary to update your information if you do not currently have an application in process with IRCC.

Since a final decision was already made on your application, the information you provided will not be added to your file.

If applicable, we invite you to include this information when you submit a new application.

We hope the information provided is helpful in assisting you with your enquiry.

Sincerely,

I am looking to apply for sponsorship in January 2020 through common-law. Will this previous incorrect answer still likely affect my PR app. Or am i overthinking this?

Cheers all.

Edit: Sorry. Just re-read and it looks like you were trying to correct information on an application back from 2018. You can't do that which is why you received the response you did. You can only correct information on open / active application.

ok thank you! I guess my only option then is to declare it when applying for PR and see if they pull it up or not.
