Hi everyone

Is it ABSOLUTELY required to resign your current job before study permit application? Or without resigning just an NOC from the company would be sufficient for the VO?

Plz help me out.

Thanks in advance.

Clearly, it's not required. No NOC from employer required at all. Submitting extra 'and unnecessary' documents won't help you.

Thank you so much J5M. I have a follow up question, if you don't mind answering.
I see applicants talk about an open offer letter from the employer increases the chance to prove the tie to home country. In my case the employer was nice and asked to draft a letter which he said will happily sign!! Could you please have a look at the draft below and suggest any changes required?
Thank you so much for your time and help. I really appreciate it.

To Whom It May Concern
I am writing at the request of Mr. xxxxx, son of Mr.xxxxx, residing at address xxxx. Applicant is a valuable employee of our company and providing service as xxx Engineer since December 1st, 2016.

Applicant has received an offer of admission in Diploma in xxxx Engineering from xxxxUniversity , Canada. As we have been informed, his study program commences September 2017 and will take 1-2 years to complete.

Since the proposed study program is closely related to structural safety analysis of buildings, which was the main focus of his work as xxxxx in (COMPANY NAME), we will be pleased to offer him the current employment position on his return after successfully finishing the said Diploma in xxxx Engineering. We believe the new experience will be valuable to our company. However, terms and conditions of the employment will be as per company policies as applicable time to time.

I congratulate applicant xxxx on his success and wish him best of luck in his academic endeavour.
Thanking you.
Sincerely,

In my opinion an SOP explaining your ties will be sufficient. Your going overboard with this. If you have your own business it makes sense to get that letter else it is really not required.

Thanks Kartz. My situation is little complicated as the applicant's spouse is on study permit in Canada! Perfect reason to get rejected! I am thinking of all possible ways to make a strong case. Do you still think I am crossing the line somewhere? Any other suggestion would you like make for my case?
Thanks a ton, again!
