Hello all. Hope someone could advise. I'm a new PR. I landed in vancouver and stayed there for 3 months only, then went back to my home country which I am a resident at and will be returning to Canada after one or 2 years. While in vancouver , i applied for a sin, opened a bank account , got a credit card , and worked for an employer for 2 months only to experience the Canadian job market. I don't have a house in Canada and no spouse, no kids , no relatives in Canada.
My question is simple , for my first year tax filing, am i considered a tax resident or a non tax resident? Meaning should I pay taxes on my canadian income only or on my worldwide income for the first year?? Second question, should I declare any foreign property (house etc) If I'm not a tax resident in Canada for my first year. Thank you all and keep up the good work!!
