Residency Requirement - PR

Hi,

My question is regarding residency requirement of 730 days.

1. I landed at Canada with my spouse and son in Aug 2012 with PR and after 1 month we came back to India due to my father health issue as i am the only son of family.

2. Now we are planning to settle in Canada permanent.

3. If we move to Canada in this month, then from Aug 2012(date of landing) to Aug 2017, we will complete 1 year and 10 months only(2 month short in 730 days).

My questions are:

A. If there is 2 months of short period from 730 days till Aug 2017, will Visa officer at New Delhi or In Canada Airpot allowed our entry in Canada?

B. If CIC allow us to enter in Canada and in this case we will complete 670 days till Aug 2017, will CIC renew of PR Cards?

1. Yes - you will be allowed into Canada.
2. No - you won't be abe to renew your PR card with only 670 days. You will need to wait until you have lived in Canada for 730 days over the last five years before applying to renew your PR status. Since you are already short on residency days, once you arrive in Canada this year you should ideally not plan to leave until you have lived in Canada for two straight years and meet the residency requirement.
