Hi
I see that recently you got your RQ. Do you have any of the following applicable to your case?
1.Any visits in USA made by crossing the land border
2.Any visa valid or expired to USA
3.Stamps in your passport which are not in English or French
4.Gaps in your travel documents or currently expired last passport.
5.Expired previous PR card
6.Living very long time at the same address.
7.Usage of a Travel Document other than a Passport or PR card

The 36 months is just a general guideline it could be shorter or longer.
Usually the recent RQ cases got faster timelines until final decision.

Don't worry too much. Whatever he cause of RQ may be if you have enough residency and some proof for the same then you should be ok.
The 36 month timeline is no longer relevant. Yours will be processed within 2016 itself. So relax and be happy.

Gave test and interview on 31 Aug. Rq'd. Sent docs twice and still waiting for DM. My wife is already DM in Sept 5. Family application. I am jobless and sent several faxes to CIC Edmonton but they are heartless. So stretch your legs and let it happen whenever......................

Usually there are couple of major reasons why RQ is issued. Less than required number of days presence in Canada and frequent overseas travel.

Have you requested ATIP report recently. What does it says about your physical days present in Canada. Does it show you are eligible ?.

If so, do you have excessive overseas travel stamped in your passport, which might have raised some suspicion for CIC.

Fill up the chart with all details for clarity of explaining it to CIC for your travel history.

Passport Page # | Date - Exit Canada | Date - Returned, Canada | Destination | Days outside Canada

Example Page # 4 | Dec 5 2014 | Jan 4 2015 | USA | 30 days
Page # 9 | Mar 1 2015 | Mar 10, 2015 | UK | 9 days

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Total : 39 days
___________________________________________________________________________________________

If you have met the eligibility criteria, there is nothing to worry. Yet, figure out thru ATIP, what could be the reason.

Secondly, approach your area MP, ask him / her to get some feed back from CIC, they get response in 2 weeks.

I wish you all the best.

Hi, I received a CIT 0171 on July 2018, in August 2018 I submitted the form with about 22 supporting documents.

Does any one had the same situation and finished the process?

Does any one have an idea how long it will take to have an answer?

Thank you.
