Residency in US vs Residency in Canada

Im worried I'm not doing this right and Im having trouble finding a crossborder tax consultant.

I am a Canadian citizen working in the US on a TN visa.

I have a primary residence I own in Canada.

I have been in the US for 8 months living in a hotel.

I now want to lease an apartment but Im worried the US will say Im not a permanent resident in the US while Canada will say Im also a resident of Canada and have to pay double taxes.
