LANDED..........
June 20th, 2017
Hey guys,

So our application is 3/4 of the way done (Waiting for security)

Our medical expired on April 13th, 2016. In our notes, under medical, it stated that we are passed and no need for surveillance and something about it being favourable.

Should I expect to do another medical or not? Or is it totally up to my officer assigned to the case?

CIC has the ability to extend medicals to help applicants get through landing, so it may not be necessary to get a medical. it will be up to the officer handling your case. there is no reason to redo a medical until it is requested. for 2 main reasons: $$$ and it can cause confusion in the application which then delays the processing (ie: Why are there 2 medical exams for the same person when a remed wasn't requested?). CIC will inform you if another one is needed in order to approve the application.

Yeah I was definitely not gonna do it unless they request it because I dont want to waste money and Im hoping that they dont request it since our notes look good! I just wanted opinions to see if people think they would or not, or if anyone had a personal experience in this case.

i believe the general "rule" is they will more than likely be extended as long as the original medical was done within 16 mo. of the application being approved. or course, as always, it depends on the visa office and officer handling the file. i know for me, my medical was extended a couple of weeks to match the expiration of my copr.

Ugh I really hope they finish security soon so they don't have to request for another re-medical. I just want to start our lives already! Thank you for your input :) puts me at ease
