Dear friends
I visited David Cohen blog and found the 38 NOC list, which we all know about. However, by clicking every NOC code I could see there are other job titles not shown as 38 NOC are also be considered.

http://www.canadavisa.com/new-instructions-federal-skilled-worker-applications.html

I clicked 0632 Accommodation Service Managers and found the following

Accommodation service managers plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate the operations of an accommodation establishment or of a department within such an establishment. They are employed by hotels, motels, resorts, student residences and other accommodation establishments, or they may be self-employed. Click here for a list of Example Titles of this occupation.

Applicants with experience in the following occupations may also be considered under this NOC depending on the specifics of the main duties performed:

Executive Housekeepers (6213)
Facility Operation and Maintenance Managers (0721)
Restaurant and Food Service Managers (0631)
Retail Trade Managers (0621)
Sales, Marketing and Advertising Managers (0611)

That means 6213, 0721, 0621, 0611 although not listed as 38 NOC but these NOCs are considered under 0632 and they can also apply.

By this way every one will find more NOCs by clicking the relevant NOCs of an applicant.

Last day I also posted the same message, but getting no reply from any one I post it again to seek valuable comment from others.

This is another sign of hope for the Feb-Nov 08 applicants, who are not under 38 and yet to receive any comment.

Good luck.

Hi.

Let's take your example.

This is what you saw written by David Cohen about NOC 0632 - Accommodation Service Managers - which is in 38 jobs.

Applicants with experience in the following occupations may also be considered under this NOC depending on the specifics of the main duties performed:
Executive Housekeepers (6213)
Facility Operation and Maintenance Managers (0721)
Restaurant and Food Service Managers (0631)
Retail Trade Managers (0621)
Sales, Marketing and Advertising Managers (0611)

What he said is not really different from, or does not contradict, what the New Ministerial Instructions outline.

A person with a job corresponding to any of 6213, 0721, 0631, 0621, and 0611 does not automatically become eligible to be considered under NOC 0632, unless his/her job responsibilities significantly correspond to those of 0632. It is up to the processing visa officer to decide how much is significant. The visa officer is also not obliged to look around and compare the applicant's job responsibilities with those of 0632 unless the applicant specifically mentioned in the application form 0632 as his/her NOC.

Thank you mcgyver for you reply.

As per your comment if an Executive Housekeeper's (6213) job duties correspond with job duties of 0632, his application may be considered for further processing.

I applied under 0611 (which is not under 38 NOC). So, if I have job duties of 0632 (which is under 38 NOC) my application may be considered for processing. David cohen blog says that.

mcgyver, i perform some of the duties of 0632, which are not mentioned in my appliaction. Now if I send details of my job duties to NS office, will they accept it ? What is your opinion ?

Good luck.

If you feel that the visa officer may agree that your job responsibilities significantly match those of 0632, then you should well-prepare a description document and submit a request for NOC change from your NOC to 0632. If the officer agrees then he/she will ask for the proof which is a reference letter from your employer supporting your claim. I think that is where most applicants lose their chance when they are unable to get proofs from their employers.

Hi Sonea,

It should be sent to where your application currently is. If it is still with your local visa office then that is where it should be sent. Otherwise, CIO.

Hi Guys
If we looked at David Cohen link regarding the NOC 4121 university professors, he said that applicants with experience in the following occupations may also be considered under this NOC depending on the specifics of the main duties performed:
* Administrators - Post-Secondary Education and Vocational Training (0312)
* College and Other Vocational Instructors (4131)
* Post-Secondary Teaching and Research Assistants (4122)

However, the NOC 4121 does require PhD degree while the other NOCs don't. What's your opinion?

Actually nobody knows what CIC will do exactly.

We have to wait more.
Or we may ask David Cohen regarding the issue. This type of information is not available in CIC website.

Good luck.

Not a chance, either you meet the duties statement in 0632 or you don't. If you don't CHC/CIC will not consider other NOC codes that are close, but not 0632.

PMM i heard the same thing before and the website clearly states that no other NOC's will be considered ... but the point is that how come David Cohen took it this way ....? some one must talk to him about this whole scenario...

Dear PMM
Would you explain why David Cohen mentioned the NOCs that are not under 38 ? Probably all applicants know that Job descrition must meet with any of the 38 NOCs. Then why to mention certain NOCs beyond 38 ? What does Cohen mean by this ?

Good luck.

You are right. We must ask Cohen. As you want to forward the question to Mr. Cohen, you must be confused.

Actually I had no confusion that job duties must match with any of the 38 jobs. But I became confused when I have gone through the link of Mr. Cohen. I thought it could be a sign of hope.

If there is no special consideration beyond 38 NOCs, then there is no need of mentioning any codes beyond 38. Mentioning other NOCs other than 38, that must mean somthing.

Good luck.

Am bringing this interesting topic again,.... has anybody checked with David Cohen please ? Why did he mention that certain "other" NOCs could also be considered equivalent and qualifies that the CHC look through besides the 38 ?
