request of birthcertificate

please i really am confused,my wife sponsored me to join her in canada,now they are requesting for my original birth certificate meanwhile it has been lost for a long time and i dnt also have baptismal certificate,am so confused i dnt know wat to do,am just at the frontiers of entering to be with my wife but its hard to think,as a ghanaian i provided the new birth certificate that is issued nationally but it appears they dnt need that,what should i do please advice me

If you were able to get a new birth certificate that should work. When you sent in your application did you send them the original or a photocopy? It's possible that if you sent them a photocopy they are just requesting the original copy of that birth certificate.

I don't see how they would know that you lost a birth certificate and got it reissued unless there's a date on it or something.
