Didn't you have that information in your application? We had to include all of that info in our application in the beginning--16 months ago.

Achkorea,

It's good to hear it sounds like at least the criminal record check and medical was ok (otherwise why would they ask for more stuff).

Anyway, Seoul office also received our app back in June 2011 but we only got a request for criminal record check now. And we had to fill out the generic info form again (looks like there's a new updated ones for 2012)..

How long did it take them to get back to you once criminal record was submitted? I am curious to know as our consultant said it was going to go fast, or if not we don't know what it means.

And that processing time posted on CIC website is such a lie. lol... it is now 10 months (think it was 7 or 8 when we started)

Achkorea,

Additionally just to compare how many days did they give you guys to respond to the criminal record check and medical check request? Did you just email back or did you send the original docs? Our consultant insisted we had to file the originals.

I think it was 2-3 days. We went the next day for the second med. and the Dr. we chose was right across from the Korean embassy, so my partner had to have a friend in Korea get the orig. and my partner had to send a document signed by the Kor. embassy in Toronto to say that it was Ok for them to authorize my partner's friend. He sent the criminal check to the Canadian visa office by courier--so I think it took about 5 days total. I think they asked us to have it done in 45 days.

As for the generic info form...I don't know what that is and I sure hope they don't contact us to do that too!
I am also thinking that the processing time on the website is not even close, otherwise how could they have just begun processing 11 months after they received it?!

5 days that's pretty good. But I mean how long after you submitted the documents did they get back to you, I guess this time just for your passport?

Yep, that was the first we heard back from them...3 months.

seoul received my app in july 2012 and the website has already updated to "in process" and have requested a couple additional docs from me (bio page, updated police check)...so i think they're picking up the pace!

I hope so for your sake, Runningfree. But, their process was quite quick in the beginning for us, then nothing for almost a year. Don't get your hopes up, not trying to burst your bubble but I don't want you to be disappointed. Better to be prepared and if it is quick for you, then you will have a lot to celebrate!

Yes, having lots of patience and try not to worry so much, something that is very hard to do in practice =)

I also got a request for passport biopage copy.
Seoul got my application back in March, requested updated criminal and entry/exit record in June and just yesterday I got a mail asking for the biopage copy along with Proof of payment of Right of Permanent Residence Fee. Is that a good sign that they are asking for Proof of payment of Right of Permanent Residence Fee?

I'm not sure, Greenish. We're still waiting. Has anything changed for you?

just an update: after my wifes entry/exit record request they saw that she was out of the country for a year in 2001 (studied in australia). they requested an updated SECTION A since she was 18 (our original section A showed her past 10 years) along with a criminal record check from australia. currently waiting for the CRC from australia.

just adding on that I also received a request for passport bio-page, updated criminal record, and entry/exit record from korean immigration. I was surprised to read "in order to continue processing..." since the ECAS site still says "App received". Anyone have any info on what this means? I can't imagine that they're nearing the end of my app since I only mailed it to Mississauga in March 2012 and Seoul just received it in June 2012. Then again I'm surprised they're already looking at my app!

Processing times vary a lot, and eCas isn't always up to date. As to whether you're near the end, there's no way of knowing for sure, so as always, hope but don't expect!
