I received this message as an update to my study visa application and they asked me for proof of my status in my country of residence.. Im from another country but I've been living in my country of residence with the status as an asylum seeker, is that proof of status or are they asking for something else because that's the only documentation that tells you my status in the country?

Yes. You will have difficulty getting an approved study permit since you claimed asylum in another country, and that is your current status. IRCC wants you to have a work permit, PR or citizenship.

So if I submitted my Asylum documents as my status my application would be likely get rejected?

Yes. Your status is an asylum seeker. You don’t have permanent status. Have you checked that you are even allowed to travel to Canada. IRCC will figure you will claim asylum again.

Well I am allowed because I've got my passport from birth country, Im not looking to claim Asylum again because it wasn't my choice as I was still a kid when I came to my country of residence I'm going there just to further my education and to come back as I've got a job waiting for me

But you are not PR or citizen but an asylum seeker, so you have a high chance of rejection. If refused, then get your PR in that country. How old are you? How much are you showing in funds? Program?

So even if I have my passport originally from my birth country and I've got Asylum in my country of residence my application will still get rejected? And I've mentioned and proved to them that I'll be returning which I intend to do?

To get a study permit, you show ties to your birth country. You are an asylum seeker in another country so IRCC knows you are not returning to birth country. Again wait for IRCC response.

But getting PR would take another 6 to 8 months. I'm 19 years old. My dad is sponsoring me and he has enough funds and my program is Computer Systems Technology

So if refused then wait for PR. You may still be asked for ties to birth county.

My father owns the house though, doesn't that count? Or must it be me as the owner?
No it doesn’t. Your father’s house has no bearing on you returning. A house is not really a strong tie because you can easily sell it. Income property is better where you get income from tenants.

Wait for response from IRCC and you may be approved. Good luck.
