From the CIC site, assuming a person meets all the requirements for the citizenship, but files taxes for a minimum amount (less than the amount required to actually pay taxes), as they are not working, what are the chances that that one factor would significantly risk the chance of approval of citizenship?
They are over 18 years old. To prove they intend to stay in Canada - they have purchased a house. They meet all PR and residency requirements as needed for citizenship (i.e. 1460 days, with at least 183 days for 4 calendar years). They are fluent in English (no issues at all with reading, writing or speaking English). They know about the history of Canada and relevant information to successfully take the citizenship test.
The only factor that might work against them is that they dont have a significant income. But even without significant income, they have filed tax returns for all the years as required
Would the citizenship be rejected on this one factor? Or would the risk of rejection be higher due to this factor?
