Hi,

Could someone please advice...for a place in Toronto ...

1) Which area would be recommended for monthly leases and how much I am expected to pay for a decent room for a single guy ?
2) Would leases start only at beginning of the month or are there such that places that rents out from middle of the month onwards ? is this possible ?
3) recommended temporary stays - before landing ?

thanks,
Chen

You can read the rental listings/ads in craiglist and local newspaper.

I haven't rented in Toronto in a while but I used to rent a room in Etobicoke for $475/month. I'd say give or take $150, that's what you're looking at. Craiglist is free and is by far the best place to look. You can also check out viewit.ca as another good place to look. There are filters on both sites for price. Just make sure to act quickly as housing in Toronto goes quickly.
