Renewing passport and applying for a study permit

Hi, I want to know if there is a problem or if it is possible to apply for an extension of study permit extension (1-year extension) at the same time that I am renewing my passport. In the online application form, I have scanned my passport (which is valid up to 2020) but I will get my new passport in 3 weeks. For the stamp of the study permit, can I send the two passports, in order to get the stamped permit on the new passport?

if I get you correctly, why will you be in haste to renew a passport that is valid to 2020?

its very possible to apply for both an extension permit and a new passport only if the duration of renewing a passport is shorter than that of the extension, you have to be calculative and cautious here. There is no harm in getting the renewed passport first before applying for the extension(if you have time as your friend!)

Thank you for answering me. The extension of my visa is because my actual visa expires on August, but I'm not sure if I will finish my program on that time. And I want to renew my passport because I want to start a new program in September, but the duration of the new program is 3 years. In the case, that everything goes well I want to have a passport with a further expiration date.
My main question is: can I renew my passport in the middle of the study permit application process?
I mean start the process with one and then just update the new valid passport.
