Renew PR Card with Less Than 2 Years Residency

Could expert advise me please:
1st PR card expired but in last 5 years, have not lived in Canada for 2 years yet.
If now apply for PR card renewal (not meet 2 years residency obligation ), will my PR status be revoked? and how much possible?

Yes, don't reapply until you meet RO or IRCC can begin process to revoke PR.

Are you currently in Canada? You can only apply for PR card renewal from inside Canada.

As mentioned above, if you are in Canada, wait until you have at least two years of presence in the country in the five years before you apply for PR card renewal. Leaving Canada during this time is not recommended as it could also result in loss of your PR status.

Hi all, my parents have not filled the 2 year required and their PR card will expire soon.
They were affected by Iran war, ie they planned to come earlier but flights got cancelled. They also age of 68 and 61.

I know ideally we should stay for 2 yrs to be filled (they are in Canada right now) and then apply for renew. But due to these special circumstances, is there a way appealing to IRCC to consider renewal before 2 years is filled (eg Humanitarian and Compassionate grounds etc.) . Thanks

How short of RO are your parents? (The Iran war has only been going on about 4 months)

Are your parents planning to leave Canada agin in the near future? If not, why do they feel the need to renew?

Why can't the meet RO once they come to Canada and stay. No reason to come and go but keep residency should be the focus.

Exactly why you should have a buffer. 2 years out of 5 is extremely lenient already. It will likely take over a year for a response to any PR card renewal based on H&C reasons and they risk losing their PR status so it makes no sense to apply unless they have absolutely no other option and are willing to risk losing PR status.
