Renew passport before sending to CPC Ottawa

hi All.

Anyone who received PPR email, and then renewed passport before sending to CPC Ottawa? What is the process? Did you inform CIC by uploading new passport before sending to CPC Ottawa for PR visa? Should new passport be sent together with old one? Please advise if you have such experience. thanks!
