Hi ,
I am a Canadian PR. I am divorced and have a son (who is 19 years old who now lives in uk). I have little contact with my son and my ex wife (also now in uk).
My parents and grandparents are all deceased. I have no family in Canada.
Do I qualify as a “remaining relative” and
Is it possible for me to sponsor my 62 year old sister (who is married with a son) to immigrate to join me in Canada .?

Sorry, no, you cannot.

Please can you explain why not.
You may sponsor one relative, related by blood or adoption, of any age if you meet all of the conditions, including:

  • you don't have a living relative you could sponsor instead, such as a:
    • spouse
    • common-law partner
    • conjugal partner
    • son or daughter
    • parent
    • grandparent
    • brother or sister
    • uncle or aunt
    • nephew or niece
  • you don’t have any of the above-named relatives who is:
    • a Canadian citizen
    • a permanent resident
    • registered Indian under the Indian Act

Let me explain my predicament better :-
My son had been PR in Canada but has been living in Scotland uk for last 2 Years so I would say he is now uk resident.
That conforms with the last part.
I feel as he is over 18 he is no longer a child. He also does not speak with me at all or treat me as his father in any way.
There are no other Canadian relatives.
My wife and son were living with me in Canada but have both left me.
I notice brother and sister are also on the list under child.

Both my parents passed away while I have been resident in Canada.
I really am quite alone now, living and working here alone.
My sister very much wishes to join me.
We are actually both quite lonely.
Is there nothing that can be done for us?

I have a very well paid, very useful and important job in Canada which I cannot leave.
My sister is retired and can easily relocate to Canada.

The nickname of the route that you are looking at is "lonely Canadian".
Since you have a son, tho he choose NOT to live near you in Canada, you are not alone. It's his personal choice to not be here.

So, you cannot sponsor your sister.

Seems your son is also a PR, so he does have the option to return. Unfortunately, sponsoring your sister won’t be possible.
