I guess mostly it'll get affected you application. It's not about life threatening. It's about spreading and the cost to treat you. Why canadian gov has to spend money to treat you and put risk into their people life. That is the reason people with cancer are getting rejected although it won't spread.

All the best.

It is contagious but I dont think that herps is serious sexual disease. It should be cured relatively easy..

But still its contagious and can cause risk to other people. Its not very serious though. I am already in Canada.

Personally I think you should be fine. It is my opinion, but I don't think herpes is a reason to be inadmissible.

First i am sorry and wish you luck that you recover soon, and as far as i know it depends on whether you have type-1 or type-2 and from my very limited knowledge, CIC may say as the drugs to cure is still not available, they may raise this as a concern.

I would suggest you to check with a expert physician first and see how quick and efficiently this can cured.

May be this helps

I'm pretty sure they only check for HIV and syphilis, and not against the broad range of STDs.

If you are found inadmissible then you would have to challenge it to prove that you can cover the cost of treatment (I'm fairly sure Herpes is quite manageable and fairly inexpensive).

Good luck! And inform your last few sexual partners!

herpes is a very common infection, 1 in 5 people in USA has it. and as far as I know it doesn't appear in blood tests (unless you check for antibodies).

read this post, on of the responses coming from someone who seems to know what he is talking about.

I don't think you should be worried at all!

second that. Especially in the blood test form they are only looking for HIV and syphilis.

Hi. I think j have trichomoniasis and will have my medical next week for my student visa. Can they detect it from my medical. I know its a lame question but i just read that it is just for hiv and syphillis.
