No it's not mandatory, but you have to explain why you choose different course and also strong SOP.

You have to be convincing that you have not picked some random course just with the intention of staying in Canada but will plan to return to your home country either on graduation or following PGWP. Hence the expectation that any course you chose is a natural follow on to your current qualifactions

i am a 1998 arts grad with fine arts as one of the subjects.i came to uae and got a job in a bank and i m working in banks for last 13 years as i did not get my choice of work in fine arts field. now i want to change my field and thought of doing a course in fine arts but after seeing so many rejections due to irrelevance of course of study i m thinking of doing some 2 years course in finance giving the reason i want to support my experience in banking with a finance degree.plz suggest.
