@ Slavasz,

I think you have pointed the right thing, as I did my masters in parallel with IT Manager Job. I have written my education and experience in following sequence:

Education:

Masters: Sep 2005 – June 2009 (The duration of my master was two years but it took long as I had breaks between the semesters, Apparently it seems that my whole masters was in parallel with IT Manager Job. As I have not described it any where that I was doing my masters in evening with full time job in parallel)

Experience:

Nov -2008 to Date IT Manager
Oct 2007 to Nov 2008 IT Manager

Sep 2004 to Oct 2007 Sr. Software Engineer

I have one point here , even if he counts 4 hours due to parallel education even then i have 1 year of relevant experience in 0213.

@shantiseema ,

Ya its strange, the whole experience usually could have many Job descriptions.

@ ssaansari

That is my question as well. Then in this way one will be writing only 1 or 2 years of relevant experience.

Hey mafp..

I had the very same situation as yours!
Having exactly the same NOCs (0213 & 2171)!

The reason was that I had included "non listed occupations"!
As if I have to exclude any other/previous experiences since they are not included in the list.

I did not have any interfered masters' studies/work, but I don't think this could cause any pb.

As preet has said, may be did not realize 70% of job duties!

They won't return you the aplpication..only a cheque with the refundable fees.

Wish you & eveybody..the best of luck.

@ Iceberg7 - Did you get your Application rejected ? Even I have submitted with NOC 0213 and 2171.. I am surprised that they are talking about 2171 as non listed occupations when it clearly states that you have to mention all job experiences listed in the skill type 0 A and B.

Sorry, guys, without seeing your application I cannot say how it happened that you listed not-listed occupation.
I can only guess that you overlapped them.

For part time job one must be doing 37.5 hrs per week to count it as full time.
best.

Icerberg,

I think we can include Skill type A and B from 38 occupation list only.

Regards,

I strongly suggest focusing the application to what is listed in the NOC job functions.

I too am a 0213 applicant, managing 2 departments and having 3 major (non-programming) roles in an IT R&D company.

When I submitted my application, I focused on 0213 and did not even bother to mention the job roles that are for 2171...

I work on 2171 jobs for the past 5+years, 1.5 years of that as a manager. In a day to day basis, I work 70% technical and 30% managerial. I've lessen the specifics and job description mentioning functions that fits 2171. I'm still being truthful coz everything in my application are true, but in reality I prefer technical. I'm a manager (coz it pays better), but i still prefer being technical... for my application, those 2171 functions does not count so i did not write it - what matters is fulfilling 0213.

For those applying:
- focus on 0213 functions, never mind the 2171 or other IT related NOC codes.
- You can add technical/programming skills on your resume - but not in the application form.

Hi all,

I think if someone works more than 37.5 hours per week it is considered as full time. And there shouldn't be any problem if someone works and studies at the same time. Specially for master studies, the number of classes are few throughout the semester so it shouldn't cause any problem. Any other opinion?

If you work under 0213 why would you mention something else?
I don't understand.
Even if 2171 duties are part of 0213 you should only mention 0213.
You might have cleaned your desk and occasionally bought a pencil or two, but it doesn't mean that you are a cleaner or a purchase officer :)

what if initially somebody is serving as webmaster???

nobody cares how you served initially.
What matters is that you have now at least one year of 0213.

I have dealth with a lot of cases of rejection not as a pro at the task but as someone who has gone through all the processes of immigration and acheiving what I aimed for,I'd Suggest you re apply once you get your money back and this time keep in view that your NOC code should be coplaint with the desired list.

Offcourse I cant mention websites in here but there are certain very good websites whereby you can get complete visa guidance for free.
