Hello,
My wife came to Canada in mid-2015. She took an English course in 2015 for 5 months which costed us about 4500 CAD. In January 2016, she attended a university program, and the whole program costed us about 20000 CAD.
We didn't any tax for her so far.
I have a few questions:
1.I paid for these expenses, can we transfer her tax credit to me ? what documents do we need ?
2.When I want to register for her CRA online, it tells me to use the amount on the previous year tax document (line 101) which I cannot, because there's no document. This should be the case for everyone filing for the first time, what should we do?
3. Her program is going to finish in May. If I can use the expenses as tax deduction (tax credit or whatever the term is, I'm not sure), can I claim it for this year's tax filing ?
thanks
