Hello friends

My situation is a bit tricky.

I got my PR in 2011 but came to Canada 2 months back.I have not met my RO.

And when I applied my PR i was still married with my first wife.

Then I divorced and married again.

Legally everything has been done in my homeland.

Now I want to know whether it will be appropriate to register her in Canada as my wife and how to proceed.

Or I wait and register her when I apply renewal of my PR next year.

Your views will be much appreciated.

Wait.....unless you absolutely feel the need to try and submit her sponsorship now. You've waited this long, why risk it.

You don't have to register your spouse. There is no such process.

You must wait until you have lived in Canada for at least two full years and meet the residency requirement. Then you will be able to sponsor your spouse for PR. If you apply early, expect to lose your PR status for failing to meet RO.

Will they not later on ask why I did not update my records with my spouse name?

I'm assuming you included your first wife in your PR application since you were married to her when you became a PR. I'm then assuming that you divorced her and married someone else. If so - there shouldn't be any issues. If that's what you did - there shouldn't be any issues.

You got absolutely correct.

And i married before I came to Canada.

Thanks for reply.I appreciate.

You are under no obligation to update your marital status with CIC so they will not ask you about that.

As other have said, you will have to wait until you meet the residency obligation and then you can apply to sponsor your current wife.
