I am writing this post as I want to know how do folks rent 1 bedroom apt in Canada precisely in Vancouver.

We were looking for a room for couples and most are asking for 1 year lease.

What are the requirements to lease an apt. Does cic help us with anything in regards to finding place or settlement?

Try Craigslist, but yes, most will be a one year lease. You'll likely be required to put down a security deposit & pet deposit (if you have a pet). If you find someone who would agree to a 2month-11month lease you'll likely pay more a month.
