Hi everyone,


I’m currently putting together my Canadian citizenship application and have a quick question regarding the Address History section.


During my eligibility period, I went to my home country for 7 months. However, the details of that period are a bit unique:

1. I kept my Canadian apartment rental active the entire time and continued paying rent.
2. While abroad, I stayed with my parents strictly for a vacation
3. I was unemployed during this entire 7-month duration.

For this specific 7-month block, should I list my active Canadian rental address, or do I need to list my parents' address in my home country?


Any guidance or experiences from those who have navigated a similar extended absence while keeping a lease would be greatly appreciated!

IRCC doesn't expect people to put their vacation addresses there, but it's a matter of common sense. A 2 weeks vacation in Dominican Republic? No need to list the hotel. 7 months in your home country? Well, you lived there for a significant amount of time. It's better to list it.
