Hello, I am Ukrainian student (the university located in Ukraine).I am in Canada but I don't have education or qualification, my parents are dead in Ukraine and my house is destroyed in Donetsk Region where they have hot battles over Bakhmut. I can't qualify for PR programms due to my life situation. I don't have 40k as international student to pay in Canada. I am living with a Canadian who has decided to help me, but only for living. My life is destroyed and I don't see the future, I can't be a part of Canada due to my life situation but I can't return my home because my parents are dead and house is destroyed. I am thinking of suicide and refugee status my last ticket. Should I do this or I won't get passed and therefore it is the end for me ? I am 3rd year student

Ukranians in Canada are eligible for CUAET. Do you already have the visa? Are you in Canada? Are you currently working? Why not work to qualify to PR? That is what many Ukrainians are doing in Canada. That is the pathway set up by the Canadian government so I don’t know what happens if you then go apply for asylum. You may lose your WP and any benefits under CUAET. Once you are granted PR you can look at schooling options or perhaps explore a job in the trades since supporting yourself through your studies without other supports is very difficult. Unfortunately many Ukrainians students have had their studies interrupted and many displaced people in general must start their education from scratch. Although it may seem like the end of the world you are young there are certainly obstacles in front of you and your life may take a different course then you were planning but you are safe which is the most important. I would suggest reaching out for help grief and ptsd and speak to other from Ukraine who understand what you are going through. Most of us on the forum have not been through such a traumatic experience.
