Hi
I am asking this question for my friend from slovenia. He is currently a worker in canada on a work visa. So, as slovenia is facing the refugee problem at their border, does this make a good case for my friend to apply for refugee in canada??

Any advice will be appreciable.

Thanks a ton!

LOL Germany is having a refugee problem, too. I sure hope all the Germans won't apply for refugee here in Canada :P

I think people need to read up on the definition of "refugee". Just because Slovenia is facing in influx of refugees, that doesn't mean that everyone is Slovenia is automatically eligible to be a refugee. Slovenia is still a perfectly safe country and your friend can easily return there without his/her life being in danger. As such, he/she is not qualified to be a refugee.

I think people are just trying to get in to Canada, in any possible way. Legitimate desire, not legitimate way in this particular case.

LOL. Well, i'm pretty sure your friend knows that the refugees at the border don't want to stay in Slovenia, 99.99% of them want to pass through to either Germany,Sweden,Holand,Norway,or Denmark.

His reason is not legitimate.
