I am a refugee claimant residing in Montreal. Is it possible for a refugee claimant to apply for a study permit and where do you apply. I have a work permit but need to go to college am only 19 yrs old.

Did you get the study permit already? And how did you apply? Did you pay international fees or domestic fees?

I have not applied yet but they need acceptance letter from college and bank statement. Thats what i was told when I called the immigration office

Yes you need to prove you can pay international fees.

In reality, the amount required is a minimum of 25K for the first year. You could lessen your fees by going to a low cost but excellent University in Newfoundland.

Thanks for answering! Actually I'm working and residing in Quebec city so I have to send my bank account with at least 25k?(I thought it was 11k)Or can I use my pay slips as a proof?

You would have to show that you can pay at least tuition plus 10k living costs and be able to show how you will find future studies.
