Question for a friend

He recently entered Canada and claimed refugee status in Canada. He has yet to go for the hearing and the process as we know is quiet lengthy. He was found eligible as a refugee after he crossed the border.

Now he wants to bring his family in.

Is it possible for him to claim them as refugee while they are not in Canada?
Or can he bring them in any other way?

Anyone knows a Lawyer who specializes in refugee cases?

What do you mean by family?

He can add immediate family members to his application, but it’s highly unlikely they will be allowed to travel to Canada until the process is complete for him.

his spouse and dependents
His spouse and children should be included in his refugee application was dependents.

They can try to apply for a TRV to come to Canada however the TRV is likely to be refused.

Most likely they will need to remain outside of Canada for a number of years until his refugee and PR applications are successfully processed.
