What should normally happen next

After your BOC submission, the next steps are usually:
Eligibility confirmation.
Security & background checks (can take a long time)
Referral to the Refugee Protection Division (RPD) of the IRB
Notice of Hearing (this is the big letter everyone waits for)
For many claimants in 2025–2026:
Waiting 8–18 months after BOC for a hearing date is common
Claims from Sudan, are not refused quickly, but they may still be delayed due to backlog

Because of the ongoing armed conflict, mass displacement, and human rights violations in Sudan:

Claims are not fast-tracked, but
Sudanese claimants are generally not deprioritized or dismissed
Processing delays are largely due to IRB backlog, not your case strength

If you do not hear anything yet

due to..
Large backlog at the IRB
Ongoing security/background screening
No hearing slots available yet
Mail/email issues (very common)

can we avoid posting ai generated responses? i think we all have access to ai tools. If you dont have a practical response based on experience ,it is okay rather than provided ai generated responses
