hello,

I made my refugee claim in May 2025, boc was submitted July 2025. I have not received any information from the immigration whatsoever. I come from Sudan.

Eligibility confirmation.
Security & background checks (can take a long time)
Referral to the Refugee Protection Division (RPD) of the IRB
Notice of Hearing (this is the big letter everyone waits for)
For many claimants in 2025–2026:
Waiting 8–18 months after BOC for a hearing date is common
Claims from Sudan, are not refused quickly, but they may still be delayed due to backlog

Because of the ongoing armed conflict, mass displacement, and human rights violations in Sudan:

Claims are not fast-tracked, but
Sudanese claimants are generally not deprioritized or dismissed
Processing delays are largely due to IRB backlog, not your case strength
