Hello!

Along with the CoPR & the entry visa, CIC also has asked to get personal & professional docs like marriage/birth certificates and "referral letters". They have not mentioned whether these are employment referral letters OR personal referral letters from a friend/relative already staying in Canada. I believe it is the former.

Could someone please confirm? My reason for visit is personal, as I would be working in Canada. I am not going there for study.

Thanks!

That's a very strange request.. Have you actually been issued a COPR and an IM-1 entry visa? None of the other documents are required by CBSA for POE landing. The only thing that CBSA might want is the proof of funds at the time of landing, if required by your immigration class.

That's right. It's an IM-1 category entry visa along with CoPR.

I wonder if this is actually nothing to do with the "landing" procedure but more to do with making sure that you bring all your documents required to successfully settle and gain employment after you have landed. It may be just good advice and not a mandatory requirement.
