First of all I have to say that this site it helping quite a lot here. It's great that this community is here and people helping each other!

My question is regarding my wife who should submit notarized copy of her employment workbook and translation. For jobs that are not included in her workbook that application asks for reference letter. I'm thinking only contact info at top of letter, she was good employee, blah blah blah and employer signature above his name at the bottom of the letter. You know, the standard.

The question is do these two letters need to be notarized copies? (they are in english) I think that's overkill and it was overseas work for her in souvenir shop and food and beverage attendant. One original letter she already has, the other can only be remade, signed and faxed over which I believe can't be notarized if it's not the original.

Is this correct thinking? Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance! :)

It doesnt have to be notorized, getting documents notorized is to prove they are true documents.A letter from an employer just make sure it has his contact info on it incase they may want to contact this employer.I doubt they will but if they want to they can.

Thanks iarblue, so you are saying I at least need to get originals? Just a basic letter, no specific wording... I will have to get the one employer to remake and send to me to Toronto as soon as possible.

I think I should meet with the Toronto people this month to vent frustrations!

Yes get original letters dont copy them make copies for yourself send the originals to the embassy. Your sponor name at the top the company her position how she was as an employee, the contact info for the employer, short and sweet.

Can I get one of them notarized to send with the application so we can keep one original for future reference or do they need only originals?

I don't think a company would really care if the reference letter is notarized or not.

I've corrected my question above.
