Reference letter issue

All, I am new here. Please answer my below query.

I got reference letter from employer but my duties are not correctly matching to my noc code on which I have WP. They are not modifying as per my wish.Also they have sent me a hard copy and another soft copy in word format. I guess, I can modify the soft copy and can change the duties.

Now the question is,will CIC call my employer and read the reference letter word by word or they will only verify my employment.

I am asking this because if I will submit reference letter copy sent by my employer so there are more chances of rejection but modified letter may work. Please suggest.

what is your job ? what job details have they mentioned in letter? if the duties mentioned on your letter dont match your noc job duties and your employer is refusing to change the format ,1. you will have to do a affidavit mentioning the reason, try to attach a reference letter from your immediate supervisor , but dont do anything by your self unless 2.the employer will agree to whats on the letter and they should put their signature on it , make sure all the other essentials mentioned on check list are included in the letter , give them a copy as well to keep in their h.r file

There is a chance they will call for verification of all. What you are suggesting would be seen as misrepresentation and you could actually be banned from Canada for doing this.

Agreed. Don't even think about forging the letter.

It could be that they are too busy to write letters. What you could suggest to them is that you draft the letter yourself and email it to them; they review the letter for correctness and then print it on their letterhead and sign it.

I did this in one case, where my former employer was happy to give me the letter but too busy to write it.

Don't risk writing your own letter-they do call your employer and have a way of finding out if this is forged. It's not worth the worry and the consequences of doing it-try drafting one and emailing to your employer but be careful not to word it exactly as the NOC codes as this can also cause refusal
