Reference letter and change in organization name

Hey guys,

I left my organization named abc in 2009. I have all my documents like appointment letter, promotion letters and resignation letter on abc's letterhead. However the name of the organization changed in 2014 to xyz. Now when I contacted the HR team of xyz organization then they refused to provide me with the reference letter required in the format prescribed by CIC.
One of my managers however provided me with the reference letter on an A4 sheet signed and notarized.
I still don't understand if I should tell CIC in my LOE about the change in the name of the organization or not ? As it happened long time back, when I was not associated with the organization and finally all my documents are on abc's letterhead.
Sorry for the long story and confusing you guys but I have very limited time left to submit my application and need help.

Please help.
