Hi there,
So I did 2 post grad programs, first was from Jan'24 to Sept'24, second was from Sept'24 to Sept'25 (8 months + 12 months = 20 months) so eligible for a 3-year work permit. Both institutes were DLIs and programs were PGWP-eligible. I submitted my PGWP application on 10th September 2025; I received a response from IRCC stating that I've gotten a work permit till 30th January 2027 (1 year), even though it should be for 3 years as I applied before any IRCC changes as well.
Now, I am unsure whether I submitted incomplete documents (only transcripts & letter of completion for program 2, instead of for both programs), or whether they made an error. I've applied for GCM Notes to better understand what my file holds. However, I've been advised to fill out the webform explaining the situation as, technically, I should be getting a 3-year work permit according to my studies. After filling the webform, I was also advised to fill out a whole new PGWP application with the correct documents.
Can somebody advise? I've been told that this kind of mistake can be rectified and that they would provide a full 3-year PGWP upon receiving the documents; however, any help or advise at all would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!
