Recommended port for Automatic revalidation?

Hi all,

I recently got approved for my H1B, so I haven't gone out of the country for my visa stamping yet. However, I was planning on going to Canada for a quick vacation before going back home for visa stamping and was planning to use the AVR provision. A couple things:

1) I've read some threads where there are certain ports where the officers weren't aware of AVR. I'm planning on taking the Amtrak train from Seattle to Vancouver, has anyone had experiences with AVR there?

2) My expired travel visa is on F-1 status, would that be a problem since I'm now H-1B?

1. No, any port is fine. At most they will send you to secondary if the primary officer is less informed.
2. That's fine.
