Hello,

had anyone came across this situation before,
in 2020 i stayed in Canada only a week. Then, I returned back March 2021 till now
my last ( 2020 ) year NOA was zero, and this years's NOA IS not issued yet. Now i am applying for my wife under spousal sponsoring ....
should i include it in my application ( 2020 = 0 ) ?
or i should not and just write an explanation along other proofs of support ( stups, statement ..etc )?

Thanks you for your help.

So you are not a tax resident of Canada in 2020?
Did you work at all in 2020 (inside and outside of Canada)?

You can provide income outside of Canada if you were NOT a tax resident of Canada in 2020.
And you can also provide your statement of savings as proof of how to support you and your spouse.
If you are currently employed in Canada, you can also provide your current letter of employment and pay stubs.

Thank you for your quick and kind reply

YES, i have a proof of saving and income outside canada, which i will include them
since i have the NOA 2020 of zero in hand and it is a requirement by them and already got it

should i include it as well OR only explanation and the above supporting documents would be sufficient ?

So all your overseas income was made before you landed in Canada and started the tax resident tie?

If you are a deemed tax resident, your income made inside or outside of Canada needed to be included in your tax filing.
Is you NOA 2020 of zero correct? There must be some reason why you filed the 2020 tax return... and only stayed a week.
If you file because you have family ties in Canada, then all your income after you are deemed resident needed to be reported.

And since you've been in Canada since Mar 2021, what is your current income and employment situation? I think they are asking for update. Not asking for repeat of what you've sent.

Your post didn't indicate that IRCC is requesting more information from the application that you've sent already.

I had the impression that you were just putting together your initial application.
