Received PPR with condition Your passport must be valid for at least six months

Hi All,

I have received Passport request email team from CIC Team. My Application details are as follows

AOR - 28/10/2018
PPR - 08/04/2019
Passport expiry date - 22/09/2019(Less than 6 months from date of request)

My PPR email has one line related to by visa validity.

"We are unable to issue a visa beyond the expiry date in your passport. Your passport must be valid for at least six months".

Option 1: I get new passport reissued and send both passport to VFS office with Letter or explanation
Option 2: I send my current passport to VFS Visa office and get COPR and travel to Canada before September and get passport renew from there?

Also, do i need to intimate to CIC related passport changes on portal?

Good Day, I would play it safe and get the passport renewed. The PR visa will only be valid up until your PP expiry date. If something happens and you can't come by then, it means you will have to go through the hassle of trying to get a new one issued. Also, the process for renewing you passport in another country other than your home country is always more tedious.
Option 1 is definitely what I would recommend.

Once you get a new passport , you can submit both of them to VFS and maybe wirte an LOE along side them to further explain your case. IRCC obviously knows that you might get your passport renewed so it won't be a surprise to them that you did. The COPR shall be issued against the new passport bio data up to the Medical expiry date.
