I have been initially approved for a work permit (Young Professionals category) and received my port of entry letter. My current visa expires 4th July, so I need to reenter Canada before that time to receive my new work permit.
My new work permit will carry a maximum validity of 2 years, however my passport expires in May 2025, so I understand the new visa will only last until then. What I would like to know is can I renew my passport before I reenter Canada, so that I can receive the maximum validity of the visa? Or will the new visa be tied to my old passport?
thanks in advance!
