Hi friends,

Today I received in the mail a blank form from CIC. It's for paying for immigration services and has words like "For Bank Use Only" and "Fees must be paid at designated financial institutions...." etc. Other than that, there are no letters/instructions that go with this blank form. I don't think CIC is saying to me that I need to pay for immigration services.

The problems are:

1. I just submitted my application late June 2015, and I know for a fact that CIC hasn't started processing my application yet. Why am I receiving this blank form?
2. I already paid for my application online and submitted the electronic receipt along with my entire application package. Why am I receiving this blank form?

Should I be worried? Is CIC telling me that I need to pay for immigration services (I did already)? Did anyone else have similar experiences?

Thanks so much!

Sounds like a phishing attempt. Contact CIC call centre and see what they say.

They should be able to look it up. Does it have any or your actual information on it and is it CORRECT?

They haven't started processing my application yet (I didn't receive AOR). If I call CIC, I don't think they will be able to look up my file. The form is not filled out and does not contain any of my information. Only the envelope has my name and address on it. It's so weird.

Call them anyways.

Call them...sounds like a scam though or something. Something is not right.

My application went from Received to Decision Made, so I never knew they were 'actively working on my application'...

They will know if that form is legit or not.

Like the others have said, call CIC asap. You can also send a case specific inquiry to your visa office, attach a copy of the form and ask if they sent it. Also tell them you already paid your fees (attach fee receipt).

CIC does not need to that form because you can order it yourself or pick it up from any bank. Also, CIC would have included instructions and specified which service (e.g. right of permanent residence fee) you were paying for not just call it "immigration services".

It's likely a scam. Do not fill the form or give out personal information (if you get a call).

Where is it telling you to send the money? Are you able to upload the form? :( I wouldn't do anything until I've spoken to someone from CIC. Even if you're within the time line, the center will let you know if that form is real or not.

Thank you everyone for your help! I just called CIC and they told me to ignore the form. If CIC needs you to do something they would include a letter or instructions for you to follow.

Thanks again.

There are a lot of scams. Be alert:
