Hi,

I have some questions to finish a TRV reapplication of my siter. Just to know, I'm an international student in Canada until next year. (study/work permit)

1) Purpose of Visit

Is there a model/sample of Purpose of Visit Letter? My sister wrote about she would like to see me, know the city and its attracations (she wrote the name of places she would like to visit). In addition, she wrote that she has obligations with her job when she come back to Brazil. She wish to come to Canada for one month. Is it good enough?

2) Proof of Income

2.1)Will she need to translate her bank statements or she can only write a letter explaining the conversion rate at the end?
2.2)Even she's answered the questionnarie in her first attempt that she will pay for this travel (It is true and she will answer the same again), can she provide assets of our father that lives with her? She's already asked for money for a relative to help her bank statement... But maybe an asset of our father can help..

Below are the reasons she was refused at the first time.

You have not satisfied me that you would leave Canada at the end of your stay as a temporary resident.
In reaching this decision, I considered several factors, including:
- Your travel history
- Purpose of visit

I am not satisfied that you have sufficient funds, including income or assets, to carry out your stated
purpose in going to Canada or to maintain yourself while in Canada and to effect your departure.

- If she writes I want to visit A B and C it is expected she has the money and means to visit A B and C. Be careful to put down only what she intends to visit.
- It is not up to her to say "I got obligations" it certainly doesn't hurt but it has to be backed up with something (employment letter).
- Now, one month is a lot of time, how did she got so many vacations?
- For one month she needs around 3000 dollars a day that is after accomodations. Of course each A B and C she visits raises the expenses.

- We all can do conversion rates, why would that help?
- The bank statement has to be or in English or with a notarized translation attached.

- Is she a minor? If so then yes, that will help. If no it is irrelevant what her family has, it is not hers.

Got it. Like I said, she wrote she wants to visit me as well as going to touristic attractions in the city and nearby.
Got it.
Vacation in Brazil usually is one month.
She won't need to pay accomodations. I told this in my invitation letter.

Let's get this straight. If she is not a minor then the assets/property have to be under her name.

But this plays against her. CIC says that they are not convinced she has the means to support herself abroad. Living with her parents certainly doesn't help to show she can.

Yes, but it is a cultural thing, but I think CIC doesn't give a fuck to it. For example, in Europe as soons as people starts at University they move out.

What do you recommend to say?

I know it is cultural, see my flag? And it isn't an issue at all, CIC is aware of cultural differences. Almost all my friends (and even me at the time) lived with their families when we all got our first TRV.

I recomend you say as much as needed while being honest and not opening paths that will lead to questions that you know will result in answers that will play against you. Why would you mention she lives with her family? Is it needed to state that anywhere in the application? No. Then don't do it. ;)

3000 per month?

all canadians i know make half of that,,,,wonder how they survive...
No, 3000 a day  So for one month, she need 30 days x $3000/day = $90,000 excluding accommodations!

That was what Jalex wrote:
