It depends - why was only a two year work permit issued? Was it because your passport was expiring?

That doesn't make any sense. I thought you said the work permit was valid for two years.
If you mean the passport is valid until 2023 - then this means that CIC decided for some reason that he was only entitled to a 2 year PGWP - maybe due to the number of semesters in his program.
Hi im in the same situation i guess. Cuz i got approved until the expiry date of passport. Want to re apply. Paper based. What about you. Paper or online. Someone reliable told me that we can only reapply on paper this time.

It happened with me alos this year . First i was issued two year work permit and I reapplied paper based and got three years . First I called CIC agent and explained him everything that I am eligible for three years work permit and he then sent me a form to correct expiry date on work permit on my email.
