I need a bit of help. I am so confused. My husband is a Canadian-born citizen, and I am applying for permanent residency. I have been given the okay by Immigration Canada to now apply for my open work permit, to use until my Permanent Residency Card is issued. Now everything I have read or seen about the Open Work Permit seems to apply only to spouses of foreign, non-Canadian workers/students who are here themselves on a work or study visa. Is there a special form I am supposed to apply with? I know the fee ends up being $150, but I have no idea where or what to apply to?

You need to use form IMM 1249, found on cic.gc.ca I included the link below. Regarding how to fill it up, please read the instruction guide it is pretty straight forward.
