All depends on when baby's medical happens and if your medical expires most like you all have to do medical again and not full process.

I also suggest to consult with some one wale as well.

The Global Case Management System (GCMS) is Citizenship and Immigration Canada’s (CIC’s) single, integrated and worldwide system used internally to process applications for citizenship and immigration services.

The most recent Privacy Impact Assessment (PIA) on GCMS was submitted to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner (OPC) in December 2011. As the system continues to evolve, updates to the PIA will be completed if there are major changes in the functionality of GCMS that impact privacy.

GCMS stores only the type of personal information required to process citizenship and immigration clients. The type of personal information collected includes, but is not limited to, client identification (i.e., family name and given names, gender, date of birth, country of birth, etc.), contact information and history, educational and employment information.

GCMS provides a level of protection that reflects CIC’s need for information availability and integrity, Government of Canada requirements for protected B level information, and the requirements of the Privacy Act and associated Treasury Board policies.

Some low level privacy risks have been identified as part of this assessment and most have been mitigated. The remaining risk relates to the granting of authority by Library and Archives Canada to delete information from GCMS. They have recommended that their appraisal of the system’s information and subsequent coverage of a Records Disposition Authority (RDA) be completed only once the system has been fully implemented for all immigration lines of business. GCMS will cover all immigration lines of business by 2013/2014

A friend of mine received MR on the 5th April 2016 after telephonic verification which was held on 8th March 2016. from Warsaw visa office with the following text as under:
Dear applicant
WHY ARE YOU RECEIVING THIS LETTER?
your file will be reviewed now to assess your admissibility and eligibility. Some documents need to be updated before a review can take place.

WHAT ARE WE REQUESTING
updated original police certificate from India for yourself and spouse.
Completion of medical examination for yourself your spouse and your dependent children.
Payment of right of permanent residence fee for yourself and your spouse.

HOW TO SUBMIT YOUR DOCUMENTS
you must send all documents together in one package. Our mailing address can be found at the bottom. Please write your file number on outside the envelope and cover letter accompany your documents
You have 30 days to submit the documents. If you require foreign police certificate which take more than 60 days to obtain please send all other documents with note explaining which police certificate are missing ND when u you should be able to send them.

WHAT ARE NEXT STEPS
if your documents are not submitted within sixty days, your application will be reviewed and lack of updated documents is likely to lead to a refusal.
If you submit the documents within 60 days they will be reviewed by an officer to assess your admissibility and eligibility. Some cases require more in depth review to assess the admissibility : additional information, additional medical examination or an interview could be required. The assessment of admissibility is a step that require more time please wait six months from the date of the submission of your documents before contacting us for a status update.

By paper application, Do you mean FSW? As that has been discontinued by CIC.
You can have application in multiple categories, thats ok. Like EE, Skilled worker etc.

Meds & Security check have timelines. 12 and 6 months each I believe.
Change in you family composition will trigger these and will also put you file right at the back in the queue.
In our case, my wife was expecting right after our medical. Moment we had our Visa, we came to Canada in 3 months and we had our latest Canadain member int he family.
In my opinion, Its more hasselfree this way

COngrats on your Canada immigration.
To help you answer your questions -

1) IDP to drive from day 1 but as it Left hand, I doubt you will actually be driving. DL Extract for a) Get credits for you years of exp in India & b) Skip the G2 level and get a G post your G1.

2) Not required to be at the RTO if you have a understandable reason or medical condition, a letter will suffice. My wife was expecting so I get her extract.

3) New Delhi RTO have a system generated letter so its all sorted. Whats important is that it captures your issuing date & valid upto date of license and that's how the total years of exp here is calculated.

A few pointers -
- Carry all you historical insurance papers from India. Some companies here will give you a better rate if you are able to establish a no claim bonus.
- When in Canada, immediately get you G1 & G as you start building you records from them onward.
- Rent cars and always take 3rd party collision cover along. These records will again help you get better insurance rates on vehicle.
- When identifying an initial place to stay research the auto insurance for those areas. Accident prone areas have higher insurance like Brampton against Scarborough.

I will be landing in Canada by mid May, I have a question regarding Driving License, can someone please share their inputs

1. There are two things IDP(International Driving Permit) and DL - Extract, do I have to get both ?
2. For these things do I have to be physically present at RTO or anyone on my behalf can get it ?
3. Does RTO know of DL-extract and do they provide it in their Letter Head ?

Please advise, and anyother information if you guys can share regarding this, would be benficial
