We are a family of 4.I alone applied for FSW 2014 and received PR on 17th Of September and planning to land in November 2015.I have the below doubts regarding sponsoring my husband and 2 children

1.After landing in canada,what is the right time to apply for sponsoring.

2.Should i be working and show employment proofs

3.are there any benefits my dependents are entitles.

4.What is the tentative time for the entire process.

5.Do we have to show any proof of funds

Please clarify these doubts,so that I can plan for their application.

I am not sure what made you take this decision not to include your dependents, its always ideal and better to include your dependants in your application
Ofcourse, if you again sponsor them after staying in Canada, it would not be under same rules, there is diff set of rules and procedure in order to sponsor dependants by a PR holder proof of income etc , you will find details in cic website.
I would suggest, include them right now for better and easy process

Dear all...... I m planning to land in march 2016..... so winters r over in canada.
now deciding on dstination I m confused
My narrow choices are vancouver british columbia or toronto ontario.

Job wise there are alot of vacancies in toronto but I have heard there is alot of competition. And commuting is fully hectic as alot of traffic.

Can any one tell me how is vancouver for job of IT in march season ? O heard rents r high. But weather wise its much better Any advice ?

I am also waiting for Mr since 8 months
But my gut feelings says this is bad news

Our wait is not going to end in near future
When you notice this change in status mine was changed on this Thursday

Thanks. Worked out fine for me. We used DHL. I don't know the actual cost but guess it was around 80 - 90 CAD.
The courier agent in Mississauga seemed to be aware that many people send PR cards. He specifically asked if its PR cards and then said OK.

Do they have special service for PR cards. Believe it is illegal to send cards like this and seems dhl is promoting this kind of activity. So, I doubt that whether we should declare that it contains PR cards.

If this could have been legal, then cic itself started dispatching cards worldwide.

Correct me if I m wrong somewhere.

I get my ppr fm manila as its processed there, but I reside in India mumbai now the query is that they hv asked to send passport to manila, instead of transferring file to ndvo, problem is how shud I send my ppt to manila as vfs will only mail fm Mumbai to Delhi and via courier it is illegal pls reply

I would like to get clarification regarding the following before finalizing my travel plans . Appreciating all your sincere inputs in advance.

1, Minimum number of days per year we can stay outside Canada after getting PR card .

2, Minimum number of days we need to be present in Canada during the first 5 years for renewal of PR card.

3, Minimum number of days we need to be present in Canada for applying Citizenship.

Hey Guys,

Finally after waiting for 1 years and a month, second line got updated on 26th August 2015 which says "We started processing your application on December 18, 2014."

Until now I have not received medical request email.

What do you guys think is going on with CIC? Or is it something is pending on my file due to which this is being delayed?

How much time they take to process your PCC if request is online?

My take on this:
I don't believe sending PR card by courier is illegal. It is not mentioned as illegal anywhere - at least I have not been able to find any official statement to this effect. CIC not posting it outside Canada - that could have other reasons like they will have to charge differently for sending to different places. Plus logistics issues.

That said using courier has its risks - which are same for any item couriered- like lost in transit, damaged etc.

DHL has no special service for PR cards.

Think before landing here....Do your enquires before landing, esp for IT people. Unlike US jobs are few and pay is less.
Not discouraging but putting out facts, u can be jobless for a while so plan for it. There r lot of people who suffered and went back with out a proper after a year or so, if u do not have family 2 support it is fine, but if u have family nd kids to support plan very carefully. Things can be quite tough here..
