*** Landed Canada Safely ***

By the grace of almighty, reached Canada 6th of June by Turkish air. Currently at windsor,my elder sisters house.

Want to share few of my landing experience here...

Turkish air took about 21 hrs from Dhaka to Toronto which was pretty fine considering the travelling time with only about 2 hrs transit at Istanbul. But it made me pretty tired as seats were very congested (obviously it was economy class). So, it was hard to relax and had a hard time to spent without any intermission and with ugly foods :-[

However, Bangladeshi immigration police was pretty kind to me ( may b they saw my tears as i was leaving my mom behind). They just asked "what's your profession?" and "Please look at this web cam, need to take a photo.". Then i was amazed hearing "Thank you Sir." ya, they called me 'Sir' and i didn't expect so polite behavior from them. Really felt pleased.

In istanbul, there was a security check with no hassle.

After reaching Toronto, had to fill up a form stating my name , how many money(if more than 10000 CAD) do i have etc. Form was checked by an official and then i was sent to immigration officer. Immigration officer took my COPR, checked the passport and asked where im gonna stay ( PR card will be sent there after about 7 weeks, he said). Then he returned the client copy of my COPR and wished me luck.

After taking my luggage , have to cross another interrogation counter. Many had to open their bags in front of those counter to show the officials. But i was not asked to do so. the officer just asked how many money do i have and let me go. Thats all..

So the whole process was pretty smooth.

Everybody please pray for me as now comes the time to battle on the field.

NB: It would be helpful if anyone update my landing date in the spreed sheet.

You need to send photocopies of both the passport with copy of cancelled page of old ones and the photocopy of new passports. Also, you must send it with a covering letter stating that you have renewed your passports and if there are any changes, need to mention that too. (such as passport number, names, address etc) whatever has changed for their clear understanding.

The email from NDVO would have stated that you should contact them if u didn't receive the 2nd mail within 48 hours...I hope u contacted them and marked urgent...

The 2nd email contains the IMM1017 Form with ur IME (Immigration Medical Exam) No...This IME No. is used by the Hospital to attach ur Medical exams to CIC..If u take it without this form then there would definitely be a delay in attaching ur Meds results to ur file (and a delay in 3rd line update)...Suggest u wait for the 2nd mail..

Generally medical forms come within 48 hours of the initial mail..
In case you dont get it raise the CSE
Wish you speedy PR process

Hi guys,

By mistake i wrote wrong email id in my application which i came to know when i got AOR from warsaw visa office.
They wrote this in AOR.
I then emailed them from my correct email id mentioning my correct email id.

I got a standard reply mail from warsaw visa office.

My processing started on 27th April.
No MR mail yet.
I was just concerned that whether my email id was updated or not.


Please suggest what can i do.

Hi All,

Need some advice regarding my PR . I had got my TLU on 02 Jun 2015 (NOC 2172). I need to get to Canada for a course which starts on 01 Sep 2015. Looking at the current trends, I am not very sure if my Visa would be ready by then.

Should I apply for a student visa right away just to be on the safer side? Or should I wait for some more time before applying. I've heard that it takes around 4 weeks to get student visa. Planning to leave on Aug 26.

Wow that's a new one...Tell u what..just contact the Hospital once and see what they advise..I think u can proceed with the Medicals since every Medical center has the IMM1017 form with them (for Upfront Meds)...U need to tell them to fill in ur IME No. while they are submitting the results to NDVO...See if it works- should be fine...

There might be a delay in ur getting 3rd line though.....If u have some time available, u mite want to request NDVO to send the actual form to you...Good luck

Need your suggestions on POF required at landing.

1) Please suggest different options to show funds?
2) As per the CIC guideline for 2 person CAD$ 14000 (approx) is required. Is this mandatory? In some threads few people only showed around CAD$ 5000 and rest documents & statement from Indian Bank. Really confused in this section.
3) Should I go for travellers Cheque or Open Scotia bank account from India. Please suggest.

What is the best time to visit Bangalore VFS? Can I go around 12pm without appointment?

The site(www.vfsglobal.ca/canada/india/contact_us.html) says from 9am to 4 pm they accept applications.
And passport collection is from 2 pm to 4 pm. What do they mean by passport collection? Collecting passports from us for stamping? or we need to collect back our passports after stamping during this time? sorry for the silly one I'm planning to visit vfs on Wednesday..
