Finally Received PPR today without DM

But I have one query.

I had informed earlier regarding my spouse pregnancy and due date is May first week.

Now I am confuse, whether I submit Passport right now or I should wait till addition of baby in my application. However I raised CSE today and waiting for NDVO's reply.

Congratulations and wish you speedy COPR :) :) :) :) +1

3. Filled up information sheet provided in your PPR mail. (I had attached a separate sheet)
3. Photocopies of bio-pages of passports (for you and your dependents)
4. Carry cash as they won't accept any cards.
5. and of course Original passports

My experience at VFS (Bangalore), for sending passports to NDVO.

- You need two photographs, with studio name and date behind at least one of them. According to the person at the counter, these are just for verification, they are not printed on the file.
- This photo 'may' be printed on the COPR letter, though.
- If submitting passports on someone else's behalf, they may ask for authorisation letter.
- They will keep the letter + passports + photos in one single custom envelope that they have (you do not need to take any envelope).
- Just one copy of the letter is enough even if passports are multiple.
- They asked for old passport also (if you have expired/cancelled passport). They will clip it to the newer passport.
- They accept cash payment only. Cost is Rs. 638 per passport + Rs. 55 for SMS alerts (optional) per passport

- They take one day to transmit the passports between the VAC and NDVO
- I opted for SMS alerts, and will get messages when the passport is at the Visa Office

- When you get SMS that passport is 'out' of the Visa Office aka 'Embassy out' SMS, then the next day you can collect the passports.
- While collecting passports, you need to bring Govt issued ID proof.
- If collecting on someone else's behalf, you need a handwritten authorisation letter + Govt ID proof copy self-attested by that person.

The entire process at VFS took less than 5 minutes, very courteous staff Smiley .

Now fingers crossed, may we get the visas soon. And good luck to everyone, I'm sure you'll all get PPR very very soon Smiley

Hey All...
My husband and my MR were received on March 17. Since then silence...
Is this usual. (US based app, CPC-Ottawa).

Thanks.

Congrats on your PPR. You don't need any other formalities until landing stage. When you land keep required funds in your bank account and carry your documents with you.

Apart from then, just relax and enjoy this very moment for which you've worked hard for almost a year, forget about everything else, because you won't get this moment again in your life and once you're in Canada, the level of excitement won't be the same!

It also depends on how fast you did your ME. Usually along with MR, CIC also starts background and security checks. If you did ME soon after MR email then you'd need to wait a bit longer. However, usually within a month of MR you should see 3rd line update, I guess you meant on 17 Mar 3rd line got updated so I'd suggest you to wait for a couple of weeks for PPR, if it doesn't come them contact CIC.

Good info brother webdev, +1 for you ;):)

Thanks! That was very helpful.

We did the ME within 3-4 days of the MR. Needed to travel so had to get this out of the way. We got MR update within 17-18 days of the actual medical examination, so that seems to be on track, if not faster than expected. Would you know how to contact CIC if we don't hear in another 2-3 weeks?
